Dr. Naveen Mohandas is a consultant Gastroenterologist from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu with enormous clinical gastroenterology and hepatology experience including pre and post-transplant hepatology, chronic hepatitis B and C, hepatocellular carcinoma, inflammatory bowel disease, GERD, peptic ulcer, acute and chronic pancreatitis.
His endoscopy experience includes advanced ERCP procedures such as management of large biliary stones, pancreatic endotherapy, biliary metal stenting, etc. He has vast experience in Endoscopic hemostasis including variceal ligation, sclerotherapy, fundal variceal glue injection, APC, hemostatic clip application, etc. He is well trained in detection and management of early GI tract malignancies, including Magnifcation Narrow Band Imaging, Chromoendoscopy, Endoscopic Mucosal Resection and Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection. He is also experienced in the interpretation of capsule endoscopy for obscure GI bleed and undiagnosed abdominal pain. He has undergone intensive training in diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound including FNAC, pseudocyst drainage.
Dr. Mohandas completed his MBBS from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum in 2000 and did his Internship at the Government Medical College, Trichur. He did his MD in Internal Medicine from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in 2005 and subsequently worked as an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Manipal and later at Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai for more than 4 years. During this period he also successfully cleared his MRCP (UK) examinations and was awarded the membership in 2010.
After this strong clinical and teaching experience in Internal Medicine, he then specialized in Medical Gastroenterology from D M at Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai in 2013. He did his fellowship in EMR/ESD at the National Cancer Center, Tokyo in Oct 2014.
Dr. Mohandas has been working at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research since 2013 as an Assistant Professor in Gastroenterology and Consultant Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist at PSG Hospitals.
